I can’t even put into words how wonderful this novel is. I was absolutely sobbing at some parts and all in all I can’t say anything apart from if you haven’t read it, then you should. You really, really should. Because I certainly won’t be able to do it justice here, but I will try.
*SPOILERS*
I found myself really relating to Charlie’s character the entire way through the novel, I just thought he was such a good character and I thought he was a really good representation of how messed up some people can be and how this doesn’t mean they aren’t amazing people, just oh my god. He was genuinely so sweet, and GAH when he kissed Sam when they asked him to kiss the prettiest girl in the room, I know how terrible it was on a social front but it was just so AGHHH it was perfect for him. I loved the English teacher being so kind, and so inspiring to him - I thought that was such a nice side line to the novel and I wish more teachers were like that. The ending absolutely tore me apart, but it was well worth it. Like I said before, if you haven’t read this novel you most definitely should - absolute must read especially before you see the movie. 5/5
Agree with everything you said! Love this book and have read it a couple times. And I must admit tho of course the movie...
